Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between the reaction and vertical jump performances of team sports athletes in different protocols.A total of 40 athletes, including basketball (n:20) and football (n:20), participated in the study. The height measurements of the athletes were measured with Charder height measuring device and Tanita TBF 300 device. Vertical jump test was performed with CMJ, Drop Jump, Squat Jump test with optojump brand device and hand and foot reaction tests were performed with optojump brand witty-sem brand device. SPSS for Windows 22.0 package programme was used for statistical analysis of the data obtained. After the normality distribution of the measured parameters was tested with Skewness, Kurtosis and Shapiro-Wilks tests, it was determined that the data showed normal distribution. Since the data showed normal distribution, Independent Sample t test was applied to determine the differences between the sports branches. In this study, the significance level was taken as p<0.05. According to the results obtained from the research; when a comparison was made between the groups, a statistically significant difference was found in favour of basketball athletes in the squat test value and in favour of football players in the hand and foot reaction test values. According to the data obtained at the end of the research, it was found that the difference between the groups was found that the dominant physical fitness feature was good due to the branch of the athletes. It is thought that the dominant physical fitness feature will be brought to a better level with the training to be done on it.
